All eyes will be on Santa Anita’s 9th race on Saturday, when this years edition of the San Felipe runs. The featured horse is Creative Cause, who was fantastic as a two year old, including the terrific race in the BC Juvy against Hanson and Dixie Union. However, we are less concerned with his past and more concerned with his present, because we get paid for predicting his future. CC’s past was formidable, but his present shows a lackluster 3rd in what was a very pedestrian race. As I said with Big H, is that horses with this profile are good “bet-against” and that’s how my money will be played. I don’t like to get too deep into giving my handicapping opinion, I am hoping that each of you can and does – when using the Power Page, make your own decisions. After all, I sell ratings, not handicapping opinions, at least as of now. That may change in the future!
Speaking of handicapping opinions, I had another nice winner on Race Day Las Vegas out of two selections. The winner, Our Heat paid $7.00 for $2.00. That pushes my total back up to total winnings of $221.00 at a cost of $206.00. The ROI is nudging up to $1.07 per $1.00 wagered. So someone wanted to know if that’s really a big deal. Well here is a simple answer, first you bet $100.00 and you get back $107.00. Then you bet $107.00 and you get back $115.00. Then you bet the $115.00 and you get back $123.00 and so on…and so on… That’s how a professional player thinks about it. Determine your edge and then pursue a betting strategy that makes good sense. More on that soon…
