It’s Florida Derby Day at Gulfstream Park:
Greatest Honour, winner of the Holy Bull and The Fountain of Youth, takes his 3 game winning streak to the post. And who is he asked to beat… as far as I can tell… NOTHING MUCH! I of course have to give a 2nd look to Spielberg – who as far as I can tell is a superior film maker, but a fairly common colt. He is trained by Bob Baffert, which makes me look twice – but his last race, which was his best my many lengths, still is about 6 lengths behind Greatest Honour’s routine run.
And then there is Saffie Joseph’s Collaborate who is a new shooter, but he will have to move about 10 lengths forward according to my figs… this requires big odds for me to consider trying him against GH. I might not be willing to with less than 20/1.
Last out, we all thought that Greatest Honour ran a little bit off his excellent effort in the Holly Bull, so it’s highly likely that his race tomorrow will be brilliant as he should make another step forward. My opinion is – he has NOTHING TO BEAT!
