This is another example of Customer Service at it’s best, with the kind of Race Books we all love to play at!

Fountain of Youth

Mohaymen wins, beaten a lesser group.  The horse that I expected to run big on the front, turned out to be a pretender, so Mohaymen won quite easily over horses that are significantly less than what’s happening out on the West Coast…  This, is not a terrible thing, so long as Mohaymen gets the right amount of competition to make a heroic run at Nyquist and the other West Coast Monsters…

3 year olds that rate !

  1. Nyquist
  2. Mohaymen
  3. Mor Spirit
  4. Songbird (the fabulous filly)
  5. Smokey Image

I have added Songbird into my top 5, even though I understand — the ownership is not attracted to running their filly in the KD.  They had a terrible mishap with Eight Bells and are therefore reluctant.  But when you consider in the BC JUVY , that Songbird posted a much better RAW fig than NYQUIST, you have to know she can compete.  The fact that she has beaten inferior filly competition is really not a negative at all, at least to this point.  As for fillie’s running against colts, it happens all the time, without mishap!  Bad luck is bad luck, but fillies and colts run together in nature and on the track, quite safely.  I could provide a list of champion fillies, that dissed the boys as long as your arm, but we might as well list a few Personal Ensign, Winning Colors, Genuine Risk and of course Zenyatta.

If she takes a shot at the Santa Anita Derby, then maybe we can consider her a contender, in the meantime it’s great fun to consider this wonderful equine.

Bias Report for Saturday:

Aqueduct: The rail seemed a little slow, Negative Rail…

Santa Anita :  Horses are being more aggressively ridden to the pace, but it’s still a speed favoring…
