Bodemeister clearly told the tale of just how good the California horses really are.  His incredible stretch run, drawing out to over a dozen lengths, while running the final furlong is 12 flat is most of the story.  The other part of the story has something to do with Hansen not going strong at 1 1/8 mile on his beloved synthetics… But this is not a certain analysis at this time, there is some serious chart reading to be done in the next few days to determine just how tough an effort he was expending.  And of course we will have to follow the clockers at Churchill.  For the moment, California rules!  Congrats to BBaffert…
