Sunday’s (5-4-2014) Power Page and KHSS for Belmont and Santa Anita are ready for download…

California Chrome was a giant on Saturday.  For those of you who attended our  (Ralph and me) seminar on Friday night, you will have to remember that Commanding Curve was one of only 3 STAR horses on the Power Page, and while Brian rolled his eyes and Ralph called him a “floater” whatever that is, I called him a “slow developing router” who you should develop an eye for, because they will always make you money.  And you may not be able to cash with them to win, but they do a great job of filling up your exacta, trifectas and supers…  I repeat for your edification, these are the type of horse that you should get good at identifying, before you worry about any others…

Just a couple of comments, Dancing With Fate was okay as was Medal Count — they had a few minor problems, but in that race, the type of problems they had are just part of the game and they needed to be able to handle them.  Maybe they lost a length, but not much more than that, so they were never going to win or come 2nd.  Danza raced bravely, I thought he was really ill prepared for this event as are all the Pletcher horses… Anyone that votes for Pletcher as a “eclipse award” winning trainer is as big as big an idiot as Pletcher is a Hack at the KD…  Just for example, in the last two Derby’s he has entered 8 actual runner and accomplished 2 show finishes.  For those efforts has probably ruined more horses than he has had running, some who come to mind are Violence and Constitution, and there are many others… Wasn’t Eskendraya his to ruing also…

Michael Maker gets no awards either and he goes on my Hack TRainers for the KD List with Pletcher after his 3 entries finished  11th, 16th and DEAD LAST!  While on the otherhand, Art Sherman, Dallas Stewart had a single entry each and got both horses to run like champs…  Unlike the other guys, both of these horses had plenty of racing as Two Year olds and proper condition and racing as 3 year olds…So they were both fit and ready and when I say ready, I MEAN RACING READY!  I will make a little wager with anyone who wants, that these two horses race more times in the next year than all of the combatants of the KD for TP will race the rest of the year…Hey lets throw MM’s horses in as well…What the heck…

Cali Chrome is the king, there can be no doubt about that now, he went to the front, took the worst of the ground loss and walked away from them — as if they weren’t much at all… Congrtats to Steve Coburn and Perry Martin, Victor Espinoza and especially to the classy Art Sherman…
