Final reflections on the Preakness:

As an addendum to my BLOG on Sunday for the Preakness, when I gave “respect” to Chad Brown and crew for taking Justify on, going head to head and nose to nose in battle…   I assumed this was the design, especially with a CHAD BROWN horse, jocked by Jose Ortiz, which always appear to race as per instruction.  Seldom to you see one of CB’s horses on the front, dueling from flag fall to finish. So I assumed that this was the tactic chosen by Chad Brown.  The key word here is “assume” and you know what that word actually means – (assume = makes an ass out of u and me.)

As it turns out, this was not the idea that  CB was actually had and he was NOT  very pleased at all.  It would appear that Jose Ortiz went to battle NOT with the brain engaged, but using another part of the anatomy to guide him. So in the case of Jose Ortiz, I think it would be fair to say he pissed into the wind and got himself, his horse and his trainer all a little wet.

So again, my proper respect to Chad Brown.
