REAL TIME PLAY! The idea that you can look at a list of selections, then go to the window to make a “correct” bet is just not true most of the time. The reality is much different than the natural impulse. So what is the correct way to play horses and how do you use a “sheet”. Well I can’t exactly tell you how to use someone else sheet, but I can suggest some ideas on how to use the Power Page. Why not start by writing down the Power Page number next to the horses name on your Past performance pages and then write down the actual odds of the horse off the tote-board. From there, you would want to start to look at the trainer, the jockey, the class moves, and everything else about the horse that you know…. Then look at the actual odds once again and decide if the horse — IN YOUR OPINION – is worth the odds being offered. Then go to the next horse and the next and the next and do the same thing over and over again… You will start to play the horses with some verve and no longer simply being a punter without an “OP”…
