STAR Horses returns $1.32 per “$1.00 wagered at both Saratoga and Del Mar…this summer meeting for year – 2017… (thru 8/28/2017)
Star horses have been the one of the hallmarks of the Jerry J’s Power Page’s and the PLUS since I started publishing in 1998. When I started publishing, I talked about finding slower horses that were on the improve and betting them against the faster horses who were ready to go backward. When I thought I had located a STAR horse… I put a STAR on that horse for my players’ to consider… Since then the makeup of the STAR group has changed some… as horse racing has changed, to my eye…And part of the “old star horse group” has been segregated into the “V” horse. So now there are two designations…
But let’s get back to the STAR horses… Last Year (2016) at Del Mar and Saratoga I published a total of 213 STAR horses, together they returned a whopping ROI of $1.44 per $1.00 wagered. Another way to understand ROI is that you made 44 cents on every dollar you made if you bet every STAR horse on the meets. That’s right… on 213 total STAR horses in the two difficult Summer meets, the Return on Invested Dollars was a profitable 44 cents on every dollar played.
So now we are in 2017 and we are deep into the meets… and of course the question is… how is Jerry doing lately… Like these two difficult meets? The answer is STILL AMAZING! Since the beginning of Del Mar and Saratoga for 2017 there have been 237 STAR horses (more than last year and still a full week to go), costing at $2.00 per play a$474.00 and getting a TOTAL Return of $625.60 for an ROI of $1.32 per $1.00 wagered…
Interestingly, we had a very good week with STAR horse, but instead of getting our share of winners, we got a bucket full of high prices PLACINGS…. such as Lady Cloud at 13/1, Oregon, Gato Del Oro,Cafe Flavor, Wonderful Lie 9/1, Charlie Cowden 13/1, Significant Form DQ’d,Barbarossa – just to give you an idea… My point, STAR horses are evaluated for the win position, to illustrate to you that you have a “winning set” to build your plays around. But the best way to play these, especially at higher odds is to consider the win/place format… Because, while they may hit a period were they are not getting the win money, they are still running hard and getting place money… which you can use in your betting systems very effectively…
Race Day Plays from Last Week…
We had a decent group of plays but only 3 winners from 10 total plays on the week. We also had 2 of our plays run PLACE. So of the 10 plays, 5 of 10 made it into the exacta… we were generally very live…and for the past 2 weeks our total are 11 first or second out of 20 total plays…
