Just a heads up…Workouts for the BC are being published at this point.  Including one on Havre De Grace that suggested she was less than stellar and then applied a reason for the less than stellar workout –  the synthetic surface at Keeneland.  Sure that might be true and it could just as well be false.  Generally, I think that great horses tend to work very well, simply because they are better athletes and not overly extended in a workout, so they naturally look good doing whatever it is they are doing.   Good works from excellent horses are on balance- misleading.  What tends to be very good information, is when top notch horses work — LESS THAN Excellent — to the trained eye!  Even in this particular case, with the insert of a work over the synthetic, we all need to be critical of her work, especially considering how tight the Keeneland surface has been this year, it should not have been causing major footing concerns.   So to me this is a bit of a negative on a filly that I gave a big chance to on form….   She has another workout scheduled at CD, I believe that might occur next Monday…Stay tuned….
