There have been a lower total of STAR horses over the past several months.  This is due to “slight” changes in the the methods used to make the PPN’s.  The PPN’s are more customized to the current track the horses are running over.  Since the PPN’s reflect a horses previous ability over the current track as well as their most current form, those horses that have a “horse for course” type of look may not be getting a STAR as in the past.

Here is a tip… Horses with a STAR near the bottom of the rankings might be best used as an exotic turn rather than a Key horse —
