Saturday’s (1-21-2012) Power page and KHSS for Aqueduct & santa Anita are ready for download.

Okay,  once again I explained that I didn’t care for Pick-3’s or even Pick-4’s or any even Daily Doubles.  If the horizontal play was any good,  I could simply bet all three races as they occurred and calculate the value ahead of time.  I know that many of you love the Pick-3 and have a good feel for the play, so I’m not against it — it’s just not for me.   In today’s 2nd and 8th races at Aqueduct were two long-shot STAR horse that helped you in straight, exacta and trifecta wagering, but were not helpful in horizontal type wagers.  In the Big A’s 2nd, my STAR horse  Royal Suspeicion,  went off at 64/1 and ran a big 3rd, just missing by a head for the place!  If you are playing horizontal wagers, you never get any of the $21.70 show money or figure out how to cover the race properly to get the trifecta.   Honest Gold was another big odds STAR horse in the 8th at Aqueduct — running a beautiful place and paying $9.30 — if you are making Daily Doubles or Pick 3 wagers, you almost certainly miss this play.   But if you focus on harvesting your overlays, then you almost can miss either of these and if you do, your just not thinking like a horse player.  Hre is how good horse players thing, 10/1 longshots run 2nd more than twice for every time they win,  and super longshots run 3rd many more times than they win.  So knowing how to bet them to win, place and show is essential.  But you want to make those wagers using the exacta and trifecta pools  (exception: in the case of horses 50/1 and higher, you want to make the wager straight first and then the exotics)…   The Power Pages are amazing, especially yesterday and you should be making great use of them right now…
