Always Dreaming improved dramatically in winning the Florida Derby, but had plenty of help.  The help came in the form of a Dead Rail that made the going a bit more difficult for State of Honor and it a little easier for him.  It’s hard to know if that bias was enough to make the difference between the two horses, but it’s important to note that Always Dreaming’s effort will look better than it actually is.  Keep that in mind as you go forward with your handicapping.

Gunnivera ran about as expected, but did take a little time on the “dead rail” that should suggest he is a little better than he appeared to be.  But he is still way too slow to compete with the really big horse. He also was a little “hot” going to post and looked a bit skinny, as if he was starting to show some signs of wear and tear from the rigors of the Triple Crown campaign.

The Louisiana Derby wet about as expected so far as results are concerned, Girvin paid more than $4.00 so he was actually a real time overlay, because he looked every bit a 3/5 fav to me.  I have NOT WATCHED the post parade or the actual race – YET.  I will review everything later on and add to this piece — probably tomorrow… so please come back…

Balance of site will be updated tomorrow…
